Service intervals consist of three main service groups:
Required Vehicle Service
We classify required service as
Oil Service ,
A-Service
(minor) and
B-Service (major). All scheduled service is necessary to
maintain your vehicle in optimal operating condition and
to avoid damage to your vehicle not covered by the
warranty.

B-Services for your Mercedes-Benz, consult the
Mercedes-Benz Service Booklet that came with your
vehicle.
Service Records
German Performance will certify in your Service
Booklet the services that have been performed. Following
each A- or B-Service.
German Performance will also reset your Flexible Service
System counter. (FSS)
Front Brake Pad Replacement
Remove worn front brake pads and install OEM brake pads.
Inspect brake discs for condition and wear.
Inspect brake calipers and lines.
Top up brake fluid.
Rear Brake Pad Replacement
Remove worn rear brake pads and install OEM brake pads.
Inspect brake discs for condition and wear.
Inspect brake calipers, lines and emergency brake.
Replace brake-wear indicators.
Top up brake fluid.
Brake Fluid Flush
Recommended every two years:
Flush contaminated fluid from the brake system.
Clean the brake fluid reservoir.
Inspect the brake system for leaks.
Replenish the system with new Mercedes-Benz brake fluid.
Lubrication Service
Required every 3,000 miles (or every Three Months) for gasoline
engine vehicles and for diesel
engine vehicles; required every 7,500 miles for 1992 and later S-Class diesel
and 1995 and later E300
diesels.
Change oil and filter.
Inspect and lubricate engine throttle linkage and control shafts.
Cooling Systems Service
Recommended every years to ensure proper cooling during the
summer months and a safe level of
antifreeze protection during the winter months.
Pressure-test coolant system.
Cap, drain, and flush the system (including engine block and
heater core).
Replenish the cooling system with Mercedes-Benz approved
antifreeze.
7,500-Mile Maintenance
Recommended every 7,500 miles for gasoline engines and 5,000-mile
intervals for pre-1995 diesel engines
Change oil and filter.
Inspect brakes for wear.
Lubricate throttle linkage.
Check and correct fluid levels.
Inspect tires and check tire pressure.
Lubricate specific parts according to Mercedes-Benz guidelines.
15,000-Mile Maintenance
Recommended every 15,000 miles All services included in
lubrication
service, plus:
Inspect for leaks and assess the condition of all components,
lines and hoses on the engine,
transmission, axles, level control, and steering, fuel and brake
systems.
Replace spark plugs (if necessary).
Inspect and adjust drive belts. ( Replace if necessary).
Inspect air filter elements.
Remove wheels and rotate tires as necessary.
Inspect brake system and adjust parking brake.
Check all exterior and interior lamps and windshield washer
systems.
Lubricate throttle shafts, door hinges and locks.
Replace windshield wiper insert(s).
Clean cassette deck head.
Perform a road test.
30,000-Mile Maintenance
All services included in the 15,000-Mile Maintenance Service,
plus:
Change automatic transmission fluid and filter.
Replace air filter.
Replace spark plugs.
Inspect propeller shaft flex coupling.
Inspect parking brake for free play.
Replace diesel pre and main fuel filters (every 60,000 miles for
gasoline engines).
Perform a road test.
Routine Checks
In addition to Oil Services , A- and B-Services, we check the following items regularly and prior to
any long trip:
- Engine oil level
- Coolant level
- Brake system fluid level (If brake fluid
needs to be added, see German Performance to determine the cause,
e.g., leaks or worn brake pads.)
- Windshield washing system (Add washer
fluid , test function
and check wiper blades.)
- Tire pressure (Check at least every
other week.)
